Energy story ideas

Bike Athens has a bicycle recycling program that aims to repair and distribute bikes to economically disadvantaged adults and children. According to the program’s mission statement, their purpose is to “demonstrate that bicycles are a viable form of transportation and that facilities for such should be funded at a level equivalent to other forms of transportation” and providing bikes to people who might not, otherwise, be able to afford them. Could be two sides to this story with the person receiving the bike and the program itself. The process of restoring the bike, giving it to the individual, et cetera would be very visual, I would think.

Secondly, Southern View Energy in Gainesville, Ga., is focused on renewable energy, and they are one of the few — if not the only — installer of solar panels in the area. Visuals would include possible installation of panels and images of people saving on energy costs (?). I’m mainly thinking installation and the panels themselves, but I’m not sure how exciting that would be visually.

I guess great minds think alike. I probably should have read through everyone’s before I put mine up. 🙂

Ever watch an episode of This Old House? They’ve been making installation/construction video interesting for 30 years. Lots of visuals there, nat sound of an installation crew …

Bike Athens is visual, but I’d lean towards the solar story.
